We are looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Level WordPress Developer to join our rapidly growing agency team! As a WordPress Developer at Warren Research, you will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress themes and plugins.
We expect you to have a strong understanding of the latest industry trends and content management systems. The ideal person to join our team is someone who enjoys sharing knowledge with others and has a desire to bring fresh ideas to the table.
WordPress Developer duties and responsibilities
- Designing and implementing new features and functionality
- Establishing and guiding the website’s architecture
- Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS
- Helping formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme and plugins.
- Provide ongoing bug fixes and support to a range of site types.
- A passion for challenging the status quo in order to deliver the best results for client projects.
WordPress Developer requirements and qualifications
- More than 5 years of direct hands-on experience working with various front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS, SCSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and PHP.
- Confident familiarity with versioning tools such as SV, Git, and CVS
- Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
- Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
- Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
- Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
- Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
- Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git.
- Strong understanding of PHP back-end development
- At least 5 years of Linux system administration experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science OR real-world experience equivalent.
